Powerhouse Recycling Inc. commitments to providing quality services that are safe, secure, and environmentally compliant are clearly demonstrated though certifications to industry gold standard e-Stewards, R2 and NAID AAA as well as internationally recognized ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 Standards. These certifications are of critical importance as they serve to verify comprehensive assessments by independent, third parties to affirm the legitimacy of environmental, health, safety and data security practices which comply to all applicable regulatory requirements.  In partnering with PHR, our clients can rest assured that data security, environmental liability and occupational health and safety concerns are effectively mitigated.

PowerHouse Recycling certifications:

e-Stewards Certified

The e-Stewards® Standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment© is a comprehensive set of environmental, health, safety and data security performance requirements created specifically for the electronics recycling and ITAD industry. The e-Stewards standard requires NAID AAA certification as well as simultaneous certification to a recognized environmental standard. The standard is the basis for the accredited e-Stewards certification program and was developed in a multi-stakeholder process with experts and leaders in related fields. The e-Stewards core focus is on international waste trade laws, social accountability standards, data privacy requirements of customers, and EH&S management systems.

Responsible Recycling (R2) Certified

The R2 Standard was generated by a group of stakeholders including the U.S. EPA, OEMs, electronics recyclers, and non-government organizations to address the need for a certification to implement programs and standards for the operational and environmental challenges electronics recyclers face. Our complete process from transportation, to recycling, to final disposition point of all materials is audited throughout the year to follow all EPA laws and high environmental, health, and safety standards.

NAID Certification

NAID AAA Certified

NAID AAA Certification verifies the qualifications of certified information destruction providers through a comprehensive scheduled and unannounced audit program. This rigorous process supports the needs of organizations around the world by helping them meet all applicable laws and regulations requiring the protection and destruction of confidential customer information.

Certification/Membership: ISO 9001 - Quality Assurance Management System

ISO 9001: 2015 Certified

ISO 9001 is the most recognized quality management system standard in the world. This certification assists organizations in ensuring that customer and other stakeholders needs within statutory and regulatory requirements, related to a product or service are met. ISO 9001 provides a framework, a set of principles and oversight for ensuring effective processes and training are in place which facilitate the effective delivery of a product or service. The ISO 9001 certification ideally aligns with PHR’s commitments to provide the highest quality of services in our industry.

Certification/Membership: ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System

ISO 14001:2015 Certified

The International Organization for Standardization, ISO 14001 certification allows organizations to establish, implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system to conform with an internal environmental policy. PowerHouse Recycling constantly sets goals and objectives to conform with our environmental policy with the goal of furthering its development year over year.

ISO 45001: 2018 Certified

ISO 45001 is a health and safety certification which is intended to help organizations improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions. As an electronics recycler, this certification goes hand in hand with the environmental certifications as many electronics hold hazardous materials that not only pose an environmental threat, but a health and safety risk.
